The expansion of Mint continues. With the addition of a new pharmacy in Bowser, B.C., Mint continues to become more prevalent in the B.C. pharmaceutical landscape. To celebrate Mint’s arrival in the Bowser community, the company hosted a grand opening event on June 13, 2025. The staff served up some hot dogs, pop corn, drinks, and gave out merchandise featuring the new brand designs.
At the event, pharmacy manager Joe Geneau was ecstatic about the turnout, and is excited to be with Mint moving forward. “I’m really happy to be a part of Mint. I believe that they are going to help us and my team here at the pharmacy, carry on what the pharmacy has done for the last six or seven years.” As a member of the community, Geneau understands the needs of the people. He believes that the addition of Mint will be a boost for the surrounding community. “I really think that we’re going to continue to perform here and do what we do best for the community and for the families out here in the small town and the island.” With Geneau leading the Bowser team, Mint is destined for success in their new location.
Also attending the event was Ron Wai, Vice President of Business Development for Mint Health + Drugs. He was thrilled to meet the community of Bowser, and looks forward to serving them moving forward. “That’s what being a part of Mint is, we are community-driven, we are a people-driven company. We are so proud that we will be able to include Bowser as a part of our family.” As a partner and co-founder of Mint, Wai embodies the values of the company. Which is why he believes in focusing on the needs of the people. “We hope to continue to do great things with the amazing team we have here and a form of this success is to understand the community as well. To listen, to collaborate, to build relationships, and look at the other organizations and the people that are making these impacts and working together with them to be incredible leaders in this community.”
Focusing more specifically on the ways that Mint will be a solution to the problems in the community of Bowser, Wai highlights a couple key factors. “Something fantastic about how our Mint Pharmacy here in Bowser brings incredible value to the community is the accessibility. More and more it’s become difficult to access primary care, to access services like even getting prescription refills.” Another factor that Wai believes is important, is the range of services that these pharmacists provide. “The scope of practice with pharmacists who I mentioned, an ability to do refills and renewals, but there’s also an ability to be able to do some prescribing for mild ailments. And again, that’s something that is very difficult to access in terms of care when physicians are so far here. Our team is trained to be able to do that.” Mint’s Bowser pharmacy will save the community and its people a lot of time with its convenient location.
The event was a sign that Mint is not just a new store in the community, but that the brand will be entrenching themselves within the community in order to best nurture the people. The opportunity to meet all of these new faces was a pleasure, and Mint couldn’t be more thrilled to develop relationships with all of these cherished customers. The turnout was great, and elevated our excitement to a new level. The company looks forward to what’s ahead in the region!
